Abstract

This paper defines a description language for implicational constraints with complex antecedents such as could be used to formalise a large class of HPSG (Pollard and Sag 1987; Pollard and Sag 1994) principles, and describes how to transform constraints from that language to ones that are compatible with ALE signatures (Carpenter and Penn 1996).
